TweetIt's the return of our flagship Shoe Cake Comedy Club at The Georgian Theatre in Stockton!!.
Something very different for the northern comedy scene .... and ALWAYS FANTASTIC FUN!
Featuring Award Winning Improv from ....
THE DISCOUNT COMEDY CHECKOUT
Regular headliners in comedy clubs all over the UK for over 12 years now, The DCC also brought improvised comedy shows to Teesside over 5 years ago now and this is just one of many monthly residencies they have on the Teesside region. Without doubt, one of the best Improv Sketch groups in the business and the only professional group performing in the area.
Featuring:
Chris Lumb (BBC3: Russell Howards Good News), Eddie French, Natalie Smeaton, and Phil Allan-Smith (BBC1: This is MY House, local legend Ted Hanky).
If you've never seen improvised comedy before, you are in for a real treat. All the games, scenarios, and situations are formed and created from your suggestions ... that's right YOU, the audience.
It's very much in the style of 'Whose Line is it Anyway' but with a modern twist ....and normally a little risker (and often ruder too).

"The comedy is creative and crude, quick and quirky, the performers commit completely to the games and create funny & fantastic characters at a moment's notice."
- ★★★★★ Remotegoat
"There's a wonderful slapstick nature to it all but they are all impressively literate in film culture and genres too, creating brilliant, quick draw pastiches of popular cinema that will have you in stitches."

A really enjoyable and informative course, a small group of great people, Chris and Phil are brilliant at facilitating and the showcase at the end showed the progress made. Would love to do the next follow on course. Improv is great at helping you think on your feet and its really good fun too.
