The West Yorkshire Festival is the brainchild of 4 comedians and promoters who live and work in West Yorkshire and wanted to find a way of showcasing the comedy on offer in the county. Arguably, there is a misconception that comedy in the north of England only happens in Liverpool, Manchester and Newcastle, and while we respect and admire the "scene" in those cities (and often perform there), we know that here in God's Own Country we have great venues, comedians and promoters working hard to build a thriving comedy scene right here. 
After the COVID19 pandemic threatened to destroy live performance, we wanted to join forces and celebrate the joy of laughter right here, on our doorsteps.
