All for the princely sum of £5 for two shows at the Regent pub in Islington. A small friendly room with big comfy armchairs (get there early for the sofa!). The bar has a happy hour until 8pm with 2 cocktails for £12 and a full food menu.

Featuring:

Amy Wright  - Live in Consett

North-East born comedian Amy Wright is going up in the world, even if technically she's come down. Now living in Hampstead, she often hears people mistaking her as French and is in no rush to correct them. She also hears another voice with a commanding Geordie accent that she cannot ignore. Why does Consett call her home? Why do you all have to come with her? "Pure comedy gold" Lyndsey Winship, Time Out. 'Amy Wright has amassed a collection of material so eclectic, her hour-long show might as well have bolts through its neck' SnipeLondon.com.

Cheekykita - An Octopus, The Universe n stuff

Multi award-winning comedian Cheekykita's one-woman, tour-de-force nonsense ride... where will we end up? From sea to the universe, an octopus and other daft stuff... we will go somewhere and it will be fun. Hell yeah, a lot of fun and (very) silly dancing, songs, creatures and an octopus... of course... a big one. We might go to space... why not?. Longlisted for Best Show Award, (ISH) Edinburgh Comedy 2023. 'Hilarious, bizarre and endearing all rolled into one absolute delight of a show' ★★★★★-Reviews.co.uk). ★★★★DarkChat.co.uk). 'It's brilliant' (BBC Radio 4). 'Like stepping through 2001, A Space Odyssey's stargate' (Comedy.co.uk). 'There’s a real sense of absurd originality here. 'Go see Cheekykita, mental!' (Tony Law) ‘ I can’t wait to see her perform again. Comedians who have previously performed in 2023:

Amy Webber - No Previous Experience

Amy is an award winning comedian as heard on BBC Radio 4. Equipped with her mini electric piano and an opera degree that’s never been useful, she’s been entertaining crowds since being a kid in Japan.  Recognised for being “a clear hit” (Chortle), she’s well on her way to her dream job; to be a household name in comedy.  Even if that means singing her CV to everyone under the sun.  Amy has written songs for BBC Radio 4 and is a composer for Oxford University Press. Amy won the Audience Choice Award at the Musical Comedy Awards (2020), was shortlisted for BBC New Comedy Awards (2021), and was nominated for 'Best Newcomer' at Brighton Fringe (2023). “Fast-paced and clever” - Bruce Dessau, Evening Standard “A clear hit… a woman of many talents” - Steve Bennet, Chortle"One of the best stand up comedy shows I have ever seen" ***** The Voice Mag. "Energetic and quick-witted... laugh-a-minute" ***** North West End

Alison Spittle - Soup

Tour support for Fern Brady and Maria Bamford. Full sell-out Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2022 and voted one of British Comedy Guide's best reviewed shows. Anuvab Pal - The Department of Britishness

Anuvab Pal returns on official business. Post-Brexit, the British government want to sell the idea of Britishness to India. It has been done before, with dubious results. 'Very clever, very funny' (Guardian). 'One of India's top comedians' ***** (EdFestMag.com).

The New York Times calls Anuvab Pal ‘India’s most intelligent comedian’. The BBC calls him India’s answer to British wit. As seen on Amazon Prime, QI and Big Asian Stand-Up. Audio credits include Our Last Week with Kunal Roy Kapoor, The Bugle alongside Andy Zaltzman. It is with Zaltzman that he has co-created the comedy BBC Radio4 series Empire-ical Evidence and Future Empire-Fect.
