Shenanigans Comedy returns for July with a line-up of fantastic comedians, including some of the most in-demand acts in the region, so why not come and join in on the fun and frolics?
Headlining we have the extraordinary SEYMOUR MACE. Critically acclaimed for his Fringe shows, and known nation-wide for playing one of the main characters on "Ideal", Seymour is one of the absolute best acts currently working. A cursory look over the titles of his recent Fringe shows will paint a fantastic image of the exact sort of thing to expect: "Seymour Mace is My Name Climb Up My Nose and Sit in My Brain", "Seymour Mace Gets Sucked Off By God", "Seymour Mace’s Magical Shitcakes from Heaven", "Shit Title" and "Niche as Fuck" (which was also nominated as one of the best shows that year). Seymour really is brilliant and you've got to see him at least four times in your life.
Opening the show is NICOLA MANTALIOS. A very frequent regular at The Stand Comedy Club, both as herself and her comedy character (the dog enthusiast Zoe), Nicola is one of the most naturally gifted performers in the North East. If you've ever been to The Stand, you more than likely saw Nicola either headlining, MCing or just doing a walk-on spot and loved it. In the past she was a finalist in So You Think You're Funny's new act competition and was a member of the sadly long-dead sketch group Funny Team.
MCing the evening is SAMMY DOBSON. Sammy is another of Newcastle's gems, the former Byker Grove actor never fails to bring the laughs with stories of her cartoonish life and bizarre relationships. She currently co-presents the podcast Which Is The Best? with last month's opening act, Lee "Billy Joel" Kyle, and regularly supports him on his tours (Lee, not Billy Joel). Other things of note is she has one of the first lines in the film "I, Daniel Blake", she was in a film about dogging and her dad was in the music video for Gazza's version of "Fog on the Tyne".
With support from JOBY MAGEEAN (Leicester Square New Comedian of The Year 2016) and JULIE GRADY THOMAS (she's American).
