Doors open 6.30pm

THE EMPIRE is delighted to be working with the Riproar Comedy Club, one of the country’s longest running comedy clubs.

Jason Neale
Since his 1st Gig in December 2013, Jason has gone from strength-to-strength as a performer, gigging throughout the UK and adding improv/MCing/Sketch-Writing/Character strings to his bow; all with the aim of sharpening his style of anecdotal, unapologetic, out-for-belly-laughs stand-up. Within 3 years he's written 3 new festival shows which he's performed in Edinburgh (Fringe), Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Melbourne (UK!) and Croyden.
Unafraid to push the boundaries with his humour, and often smashes through them altogether with a sense of glorious purpose, willing to say what we're all thinking commentary.
Well-written sharp gags & stories tied together with a stage persona that warms an audience instantly. Exchange Comedy
This is a comic who has real presence on stage and can use this to his advantage. Notts Comedy Review

Vince Atta
Despite his relative inexperience, Vince Atta instantly proves himself an unstoppable force, forging a brilliant rapport with the audience through every performance trick in the book.
Within 30 seconds, he's impersonated a Geordie, Gollum and the Churchill dog, none devastatingly original but with a pace and a punch that injects h pure energy into a gig like an intravenous shot of adrenaline.

Demitris Deech
Demitris is one of the UK's most natural comedians.
His intellectual look at life delivered in his cheeky, playful manner makes him a big hit with many audiences. He is one of the rare performers who can do a solo show as he can do his own warm up. Having already performed solo comedy shows at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival and at many universities he now has a small, yet very loyal cult following.

Steve Harris
Steve Harris is an upcoming performer who has been making a name for himself over the last few years. He worked his way through the new act competitions as finalist in the prestigious BBC New Comedy Awards and Channels 4's So Think You're Funny and then went on to win the Northwest Comedian of the Year Award in 1998, previously won by Johnny Vegas, Steve Coogan and Harry Hill amongst others.

Riproar is the baby of born and bred Coventry lad, David Trew. Aged 21, David moved to Bristol for University and has been there ever since. After 9 years in corporate sales, he eventually fulfilled a lifelong desire to have his own comedy club. In 1995, he founded, owned and operated Jesters Comedy Club, which ran for the next 16 years, becoming one of the city’s best-known night time venues, and one of the U.K.’s best comedy clubs. In 2011, David stepped up, and relocated in the city centre of Bristol, changing Jesters to Riproar to suit this bold new move.

Since 1995, David’s venues have had many (now) household names grace the stage. These include, Peter Kay, Catherine Tate, Bill Bailey, Russell Howard, Russell Brand, Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr, Jon Richardson, Sean Lock, Dara O’Brien, Phill Jupitus, John Bishop, Marcus Brigstocke, Matt Lucas and Joe Lycett.

Riproar continue to book their own line-ups, free of agency ties, using who they believe are the best professional comedians currently gigging in the U.K. It is this policy that led to the booking of the names above, before they became the superstars they are now.

So, if you want to sit within arm’s length of comedians, some of whom are highly likely to become the next Peter Kay or Jimmy Carr, then Riproar is the place to be.

Operating in the main auditorium for three ‘soft-launch’ dates before Christmas, you can expect to see four of the circuit’s best comedians at each show. One of them will act as host and compere, chatting to the audience at the beginning of each section of the show. The show is in three sections, with a beer/comfort break between each one.

Arrival time at the venue is 6.30 – 7.30pm for a 8pm show start time.

Seating is pre-allocated to your group.

Full details of how the club operates can be found on Riproar’s website.
