RIPROAR COMEDY | Stand Up & Boogie at The Empire Coventry
Doors open 6.30pm
On stage 8pm - 10pm
THE EMPIRE is delighted to be working with the Riproar Comedy Club, one of the country’s longest running comedy clubs.
Since his 1st Gig in December 2013, Jason has gone from strength-to-strength as a performer, gigging throughout the UK and adding improv/MCing/Sketch-Writing/Character strings to his bow; all with the aim of sharpening his style of anecdotal, unapologetic, out-for-belly-laughs stand-up. Within 3 years he's written 3 new festival shows which he's performed in Edinburgh (Fringe), Leicester, Nottingham, Derby, Melbourne (UK!) and Croyden.
Unafraid to push the boundaries with his humour, and often smashes through them altogether with a sense of glorious purpose, willing to say what we're all thinking commentary.
Well-written sharp gags & stories tied together with a stage persona that warms an audience instantly. Exchange Comedy
This is a comic who has real presence on stage and can use this to his advantage. Notts Comedy Review
The best voice merchant on the circuit is Paolini, who has done some TV but is destined for far wider exposure\" Evening Standard 2003.
Since receiving the runner-up accolade in Channel 4\'s So You Think You\'re Funny Award 2001 and in BBC\'s New Comedy Award 2002, Stefano has had a constant stream of TV and radio work, which he manages to juggle with gigging 4/5 nights a week.

"A beaut of a one-liner merchant" - www.londonisfunny.com
"The best joke writer around" - James Mullinger, Comedy Editor, GQ Magazine
Tony is a rapidfire gag merchant with an arsenal full of one-liners, for laughs-per-minute he's a tough act to beat!
First stepping onto a standup stage in June of 1998, his talent gained instant recognition as he won his first national standup award less than 12 months later.
8 years on his televised performances have spanned Australasia, he's headlined comedy venues in New Zealand, Canada, the USA and the UK, and been nominated by his fellow performers for the title of NZ\\\\\\\'s Best MC.
Riproar is the baby of born and bred Coventry lad, David Trew. Aged 21, David moved to Bristol for University and has been there ever since. After 9 years in corporate sales, he eventually fulfilled a lifelong desire to have his own comedy club. In 1995, he founded, owned and operated Jesters Comedy Club, which ran for the next 16 years, becoming one of the city’s best-known night time venues, and one of the U.K.’s best comedy clubs. In 2011, David stepped up, and relocated in the city centre of Bristol, changing Jesters to Riproar to suit this bold new move.
Since 1995, David’s venues have had many (now) household names grace the stage. These include, Peter Kay, Catherine Tate, Bill Bailey, Russell Howard, Russell Brand, Alan Carr, Jimmy Carr, Jon Richardson, Sean Lock, Dara O’Brien, Phill Jupitus, John Bishop, Marcus Brigstocke, Matt Lucas and Joe Lycett.
Riproar continue to book their own line-ups, free of agency ties, using who they believe are the best professional comedians currently gigging in the U.K. It is this policy that led to the booking of the names above, before they became the superstars they are now.
So, if you want to sit within arm’s length of comedians, some of whom are highly likely to become the next Peter Kay or Jimmy Carr, then Riproar is the place to be.
Operating in the main auditorium for three ‘soft-launch’ dates before Christmas, you can expect to see four of the circuit’s best comedians at each show. One of them will act as host and compere, chatting to the audience at the beginning of each section of the show. The show is in three sections, with a beer/comfort break between each one.
Arrival time at the venue is 6.30 – 7.30pm for a 8pm show start time.
Seating is pre-allocated to your group.
Full details of how the club operates can be found on Riproar’s website.
Rip Roar Comedy kindly requests that all customers should be aged 18 years of age or older.
Proof of age may be required at the point of entrance and any persons found to be under 18 years of age will not be permitted entrance to the venue.
