Shoe Cake Comedy presents:
Shoe Cake Comedy returns with another of our monthly FANTASTIC comedy nights at Tapestry - Arts, Performance, Eats, Studios - Bradford and this one is an absolute beauty!!
Tom Binns is the star and co-writer of the BBC 1 Friday Night Comedy Series 'Hospital People'.
He is also an award-winning and critical acclaimed character comedian working the International Comedy Festivals and the UK Stand Up Comedy Circuit.
Widely regarded as one of the best headliners working in British Comedy Tom has won over 30 five star reviews and many awards nationally and internationally.
He has also entertained and amazed sceptics and believers alike on his own BBC Radio 2 series ‘Ian D Montfort is: Unbelievable’,
Headline Act - Ian D Montfort.
Over time Tom appears to have started to believe he has genuine psychic ability and now performs as The Psychic Comedium.
“I’ve discovered I have psychic abilities that are at least as strong as anyone who has ever claimed to be a psychic. If not stronger”
In his performances Tom clearly makes jaw-dropping revelations about his audience but is he gifted? Is he deluded? Or is he just full of sh*t?
Whatever you decide his gift for comedy is undeniable and his psychic powers are unbelievable!
“Binns has either gone native or so deeply ironic that he’s lost touch with reality. I can only assume he’d sell more tickets as a ‘real’ psychic. In this post-truth, end of days, era we are living in, why not? Best of luck to him” – Horizon
"Psychic Ian D Montfort is, ‘a masterclass in improvisation, character comedy and mindreading" - TELEGRAPH * * * * *
Opening the Night we have '8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown' favourite and Hospital Radio DJ Ivan Brackenbury.
"With DJ Ivan Brackenbury, ‘Binns has his character nailed and he mines the comic seam, ruthlessly to create top-quality entertainment with practically universal appeal" - The Guardian * * * *
Amongst his multiple nominations and awards, Tom has received a Fosters Comedy God, Best International Comedian, Best International Act at the New Zealand International Comedy Festival, Adelaide Fringe (twice), Nottingham International Comedy Festival and 3 Sony Gold Awards.
Tom has starred in BBC Shows Alan Partridge, Lee and Herring, Friday/Saturday Night Armistice and Channel 4 shows The IT Crowd, Drifters, 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown and feature films Going to Mecca and Eaten by Lions.
