June 15th brings our popular comedy night back to The Pod Newport! So join us for a full professional line-up of hilarious stand-up comedy!

As always we have an incredible line-up for you!

Our acts are as follows…Our first headliner is -

JOHN WAGSTAFFE 

A simple country lad from Tewkesbury Jon Wagstaffe burst onto the scene in May 2011 and has propelled himself quickly into being a well-known act on the comedy circuit. His mix of high energy and clever writing makes audiences warm to him instantly. Now experienced in playing at stag & hen parties, corporate nights, pubs to festivals, comedy clubs and competitions Jon is comfortable in any room. His take on modern life will have any audience in fits of laughter. He is also devilishly good-looking and has beautiful hair.

He is also the resident compere of his own night in Gloucestershire scallywags comedy.

Our middle act for the night is -

SARAH BRIGDEMAN

Sarah is a homegrown South Wales talent, a like-able next-door neighbour figure, with a bit of bite. She talks about her lodger Troy, her failure to get dates and her frustration over her inability to lose weight. She uses observational stories with whimsy perked up with her own special ukulele playing skills.Sarah creates a warm, friendly atmosphere, has solid and dependable one liners along with longer stories that are utterly relate-able,‘I laughed from the minute you got on stage to the minute you left, really funny’ – Minehead audience member.

Our Headliner is -

PHIL CHAPMAN

Phil is one of the most prolific writers on the circuit, ensuring his material is up to date and the audience get a fresh show every time they see him. His work rate has not gone unnoticed and in the past he’s been invited to write for BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz and BBC Radio 4 Extra’s Newsjack.

A quick wit and a constant turnover material have ensured he has become a highly sought after act and MC. He’s a regular host at the world famous Hot Water Comedy Club as well as many other major clubs in the UK as well as abroad. Phil has a wealth of material and sketches available online. Not only a hit on the comedy scene, he’s also a recognised musical artist with his smash hit single Slogans in collaboration with DJ Hans Face Space, which was released to great fanfare during the pandemic.
