Local comedian Rich Austin, perhaps best known for being Cottingham Comedy Club’s Second Best Compère, has grown up (well sort of) living for almost 50 years on both banks of the Humber estuary.
In July this year, somewhat inexplicably, he decided to cross the river by swimming, despite the fact that there is a perfectly good bridge right there. We’d call it a midlife crisis but the chances of him living to 100 are significantly slimmer than he is.
Suggested price for tickets £5-£10 with proceeds from the night going to Humber Rescue, the local lifeboat charity, which accompanied Rich on his sewer surfing mission this summer.
