Leslie Gold: Tall Girl Energy (WIP) at Brighton Fringe

It's hard to smash the glass ceiling when you can't reach it, but Leslie Gold takes a running leap at the challenges of being a small woman in a world built for the average man. The result is a funny, thoughtful show, finding laughs in some surprising places - including the ladies' loo.

Leslie Gold: Tall Girl Energy is part of Laughing Horse Free Fringe at this year’s Brighton Fringe, unticketed and pay what you want.

Leslie Gold returns with her second solo hour, Tall Girl Energy. The five-foot-nothing New Jersey-turned-London comedian shifts her sardonic focus to the big challenges faced by a small woman navigating a world built for the average man – two things she definitely isn’t. 

Gold’s 2024 debut garnered 4-star reviews in Edinburgh:

Her second hour is more ambitious, finding laughs in everything from being ‘fun-sized’ to the absurd inequalities of the built environment, with a surprising amount of material about loos. She’s got Tall Girl Energy – whatever the hell that is – and (finally) isn’t afraid to use it.

Frequently underestimated, overlooked - sometimes literally - and under-represented, Leslie is fierce and feisty (and other words only ever used to describe women) and above all, funny.
