Rufat Agayev’s debut comedy special, The Bad Rufat, captures the magic of his unique journey. Produced by Rufat and Joe Pera, the Brooklyn-based stand-up comedian, writer, and actor tackles topics from gas station coffee to natural selection and the mystery of knock-off phone chargers.
Rufat began his career as a rapper, opening for the likes of Wiz Khalifa, Big Sean, and Mac Miller. However, after moving to New York City, he decided to pivot to stand-up comedy. Since then, he’s become a regular on the NYC comedy circuit, known for his sharp writing and clever observations. Rufat has performed in unconventional venues like streetwear stores and record shops, drawing audiences who might not usually visit comedy clubs. He’s also contributed to the HarperCollins anthology Alien Nation and hosts Joe Pera’s favorite NYC show, Scorpion Records Comedy Night. Additionally, he has appeared on The Adam Friedland Show and Stavvy’s World.
