Leonardo DiCaprio to Make Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon Debut

Leonardo DiCaprio is set to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for the first time on Tuesday, September 23. It will mark his first visit to The Tonight Show since 2006, when Jay Leno was still hosting.

DiCaprio will be joined by his One Battle After Another co-stars Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall, and Teyana Taylor for what the show is billing as “a special conversation” about the upcoming film.

The Oscar winner has long been an elusive figure for late-night bookers. Aside from that mid-aughts Tonight Show sit-down with Leno, DiCaprio's only other billed appearance on a late-night show was an early-career visit to Late Show with David Letterman. (He also made a brief cameo appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2019, when he crashed Kimmel's monologue alongside the cast of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.)

Next week is shaping up to be a star-packed stretch for The Tonight Show. Matthew McConaughey is set for a special post–Sunday Night Football edition on Sunday, while Sean Penn—who also appears in One Battle After Another—will join Fallon on Monday ahead of the ensemble’s visit on Tuesday.

One Battle After Another is written, produced, and directed by Paul Thomas Anderson and opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, September 26.
