Lady Gaga to Appear on Colbert Following Canceled Miami Performance

Lady Gaga is scheduled to appear on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert this coming Monday, September 8, marking her first visit to the program in nearly five years. She is slated to perform during the episode, which will also feature actor Cillian Murphy.

Monday's episode will mark Colbert's tenth anniversary hosting The Late Show on CBS. As we've reported, unlike recent landmark anniversaries for Jimmy Kimmel on ABC and Jimmy Fallon on NBC, there are no plans for a prime-time celebration.

Gaga's booking was announced Thursday, less than 24 hours after she abruptly canceled a Miami stop on her Mayhem Ball tour. The singer was forced to pull the show with just minutes before it began due to vocal cord strain that her doctor and vocal coach said carried “significant risk” if she performed.

In a post on Instagram, a very apologetic Gaga said her voice had been “extremely strained” during rehearsals, adding that medical advice left her no choice but to cancel Wednesday’s concert. “Because of the risk it poses, I was told it was unsafe to perform,” she wrote.

Her next scheduled performances are two shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden this weekend, part of the tour’s multi-city North American run. As of Thursday, both dates remain on the calendar.

Gaga has appeared on Colbert twice before: in 2018 for an interview while promoting A Star Is Born, and again in 2021 when she performed alongside Tony Bennett.
