Ryan Whittaker, 38, is the incredible man who has found a way to be both a 'striver' and a 'skiver' in today’s Britain.

In his role as an offset print manager, Ryan is a dedicated worker, clocking in a solid 40-hour work week. However, he’s not one to miss an opportunity to sneak in some downtime, making him a member of the UK's 'skivers' club too.

Ryan explains, “They say you must choose between being a striver or a skiver. But I’m proof you can be both.”

For instance, after a late night at the office, Ryan takes the liberty to work from home the next day while indulging in some Stranger Things binge-watching.

“I do just enough work until lunch, then I’m back in full striver mode, making my team scramble while I appear busy in meetings.”

Ryan also admits to taking advantage of every benefit available, including claiming tax relief on his rental property, which he humorously spends on a massive TV.

His approach to the recent budget? Offset increased taxes by doing as little as possible in December. “It’s all about achieving that perfect strive-skive balance,” he quips.
